At Walden Books, you work directly with some of the most skilled and trusted professionals in the publishing world. Our team includes award-winning editors, seasoned ghostwriters, and industry veterans who have spent years shaping bestselling books across multiple genres. Every project receives the same level of care, precision, and creative excellence expected from major publishing houses.
Schedule a consultantWalden Books provides a wide range of professional publishing-related services. These include ghostwriting, which consists of developing original written material from your ideas and creative direction; editing, which encompasses developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting depending on your chosen package; formatting for both digital and print-ready manuscripts; proofreading to ensure accurate grammar, punctuation, and consistency; and cover design, which includes the creation of customized book covers tailored to the genre and tone of your manuscript. We also offer publishing support that covers guidance on platform setup, metadata optimization, uploading, and compliance with the requirements of Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and other distribution channels. Additional promotional services, such as press releases, podcast bookings, interviews, and blog placements, may also be provided as part of optional marketing packages.
All pricing for services is communicated in writing before the start of a project. Payment structures may vary depending on the nature of the service and may require full payment upfront or milestone-based payments, depending on what is agreed upon. Work begins only after the initial required payment has been received. Payments made to Walden Books are non-refundable, as time, labor, and resources are allocated immediately upon purchase. In rare circumstances, and at our sole discretion, refunds may be considered for work that has not yet begun. Accepted forms of payment include major credit and debit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, or any other method approved by Walden Books.
The project process begins once the client provides the necessary materials, information, or creative brief. Ghostwriting projects follow a structured workflow that includes gathering input from the client, creating drafts in agreed-upon stages, and offering revisions according to the selected package. Editing and proofreading services require the submission of a completed or near-completed manuscript, after which our editors review and refine the content to meet industry standards. Formatting and cover design services involve preparing your manuscript and visual assets according to platform guidelines and genre conventions. Publishing support consists of assistance with uploading materials, completing metadata information, selecting categories, and ensuring your book meets the technical requirements of distribution platforms. Although we guide you through the publishing process, you remain responsible for maintaining your own publishing accounts.
Revisions are an important part of the service experience. Each service package includes a defined number of revisions, which must be requested within a reasonable timeframe, generally within ten business days of receiving the deliverable. Revisions apply only to the original project scope. Any additional changes, such as rewriting chapters, restructuring content, or requesting significantly different design concepts, will require additional fees. If revisions are not requested within the designated window, the project may be considered complete.
As the client, you agree to provide accurate information, timely communication, and all necessary materials needed for the completion of the project. Delays caused by failure to provide such materials, respond to messages, or review drafts promptly may extend the project timeline, and Walden Books cannot be held responsible for delays resulting from client inaction. You also agree that all materials submitted to us are legally owned or authorized for use and do not violate any intellectual property laws.
Upon full payment, all rights to ghostwritten content are transferred to you, and Walden Books waives authorship claims. However, we may request permission to use anonymized excerpts in our portfolio. For editing, formatting, and proofreading services, ownership of the manuscript remains with the client, and Walden Books does not assume the role of co-author. In cover design services, ownership of the final design is transferred to you once payment is complete, though stock images used in the design remain governed by their respective licenses. You maintain full ownership of your publishing accounts and are responsible for managing them.
Walden Books is committed to maintaining strict confidentiality. Any personal information, manuscript content, or correspondence shared with us is treated with complete discretion. We do not disclose your information to third parties except when required to execute the project or comply with legal obligations.
All timelines provided by Walden Books are estimates. Although we strive to meet or exceed projected deadlines, delays may occur due to client inaction, extensive revision requests, technical issues, or unforeseen circumstances. Walden Books cannot be held liable for delays outside of our control. Marketing and promotional services, such as interviews, features, and press opportunities, are subject to acceptance by third-party platforms. While we provide high-quality materials and outreach, we cannot guarantee media placement, exposure, or approval from external outlets.
Walden Books is not responsible for financial losses, lost sales, platform rejections, publishing account issues, or consequences arising from the client’s content or actions. Our services are designed to assist you, but we do not guarantee bestseller status, sales performance, media acceptance, or long-term commercial success. Results will vary depending on market factors, audience engagement, book quality, and decisions made by distribution platforms.
We reserve the right to discontinue services if the client engages in abusive behavior, violates these Terms, fails to provide necessary information, or demands work outside the agreed-upon scope without compensation. Payments made up to the point of termination remain non-refundable.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Walden Books operates. We may update or amend these Terms periodically, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revisions made.
